Ny Sour

Ny Sour

The traditional whiskey sour is believed to have first appeared in print in the 1862 edition of the famed Jerry Thomas Bartender's Guide. The New York Sour updates the original whiskey sour recipe with a float of dry red wine.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 2 oz still Austen whiskey
  • 1 oz dry red wine
  • DEHY Lemon - Fine Cut

Instructions

  1. In a shaker, combine egg white, lemon juice, simple syrup, and still Austen whiskey.
  2. Without ice, dry shake for 25 to 30 seconds to incorporate the egg white.
  3. Add a handful of ice to the shaker and shake again vigorously for five seconds.
  4. Strain over a fat ice cube in a rocks glass.
  5. Float one ounce of dry red wine on top.
  6. Garnish with a DEHY Lemon - Fine Cut.
