Penicillin

The Penicillin is a modern classic cocktail that was created in the mid-2000s at New York City's famous Milk & Honey bar. It's essentially a riff on another modern classic and another Milk & Honey original, the Gold Rush. The Penicillin is known for its spicy and satisfying blend of scotch, lemon, honey, and ginger, making it a favorite among cocktail enthusiasts.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Monkey Shoulder blended scotch
  • 3/4 oz Liber & Co. ginger syrup
  • 3/4 oz honey syrup
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 oz pitted scotch (for spritzing)
  • DEHY Lemon - Fine Cut
  • DEHY'd candied ginger

Instructions

  1. In a shaker, combine Liber & Co. ginger syrup, honey syrup, fresh lemon juice, and Monkey Shoulder blended scotch.
  2. Add ice to the shaker and shake well.
  3. Fine strain the mixture over a sphere or a large fat ice cube in a rocks glass.
  4. Spritz the cocktail with a pitted scotch.
  5. Garnish with a DEHY Lemon - Fine Cut and DEHY'd candied ginger skewered through the top.
